Founded in 1939 and headquartered in Tokyo, Toshiba Corporation is a Japanese conglomerate manufacturing company that manufactures different high tech electronic and engineering products. Toshiba was originally founded when two companies were merged together; Hakunetsusha and Tanaka Seizosho. Tanaka Seizosho was the first company of Japan that manufactured different telegraphic equipments. In 1904, the name of this company was changed into Shibaura Seisakusho. Hakunetsusha was founded in 1890 and was the first company of its kind to produce different incandescent electric lamps. Later in 1899 it was named as Tokyo Denki. Finally in 1939, these two companies were merged together and ultimately in 1984 it was officially named as Toshiba Corporation.
