The old saying is “It’s not the size that matters” and this really does seem to be the case, at least when it comes to cars and digital technology. Recent photos of Football player Wayne Rooney and actress Liz Hurley have proved that size has nothing to do with it when they were both photographed separately in small cars. Liz was photographed in her Fiat 500 and Wayne in his Mini GP. So what about the technology used to capture these photos, well that’s certainly getting smaller too. When it comes to digital cameras then size certainly doesn’t matter as the Casio EX V7 clearly shows. This is one of Casio’s slimmest models that will fit into the pocket without weighing it down. However while it is very much on the slim side it is not in anyway lacking in features. The camera has a very impressive 7 times optical zoom which is packed away in the design; it also has one of the most intuitive interfaces seen on any digital camera. It has 7.2 megapixels and excellent powerful features such as a live histogram and over 33 preset scenes. You will need to take advantage of the SD memory card slot if you want to make sure that you have plenty of storage for your photos. Photos are excellent when printed out at a size of A4 and can even be pushed as far as A3. However they are great photos with clear, bright colours and the camera also works as a video cam complete with widescreen movie mode. Another excellent choice when it comes to size, or rather the lack of it, is the Fujifilm FinePix Z100FD. This fine digital camera measures only 20mm thick which means you are able to slip it into the pocket and won’t be weighed down. This offering from Fujifilm manages to squeeze a 5 times optical zoom into its modest dimensions and also manages to include some very advanced features into it at the same time despite its slim body. The camera boasts face detection mode, image stabilization and a gorgeous 2.7 inch screen which acts as the viewfinder. The internal memory is lacking, however this can be expanded with an SDHC memory card which then allows plenty of storage for both photos and videos. The Fujifilm FinePix Z100FD proves that great things do indeed come from small things and that the saying size doesn’t matter is true.
