Warmer weather sees hundreds on the beaches in the UK with cameras at the ready Updated:Tue, 06 May 2008 15:47:21 With the warmer weather over the bank holiday crowds flocked to beaches in the UK, Brighton was a firm favourite which saw temperatures reach around 70f. Of course this was the perfect opportunity to get those digital cameras, phone cameras and video cameras out and at the ready and capture family moments in what is a very rare occasion in the UK, the sun.
So what do you need to be ready for those days out in the sun, any camera phone over will do the trick if its just family fun you wish to capture. The Motorola RAZ V3 is a super slim choice with a built in VGA camera and 3 times zoom. It has a beautiful aluminium finish and is compact enough to take anywhere. It also has support for extra memory by way of a MicroSD memory card for storage which means you will have plenty of room for storing your family moments out.
If you want better quality family snaps then you will have to purchase a digital camera and the choices are numerous from the economy range to the camera aimed at the professional. Canon do a great range and the IXUS 70 is a great family choice of camera that is in the mid price range. It is a pocket sized model which makes it ideal for family days out; you just simply point and shoot, which is ideal for catching your kids in the sun when it pops out. The Canon IXUS 70 has three times optical zoom and is 10 megapixels and it is more than capable of taking excellent family shots. The camera has a solid feel in the hand and its battery should last for around 200 shots. There is also SDcard support for storing your shots and you will need it.
While the majority of camera phones and digital cameras will take video, if you are into movies then you should invest in a digital camcorder. There are many excellent models to choose from and one of the best is the Sanyo VPC HD2. This camcorder captures movies in HD and also allows you to take still photos by way of its 7 megapixel camera. Boasting a 10 times digital zoom you can get in close to your subjects and it is quick and easy to use being termed a “point and shoot” camcorder. Storage for your photos and videos is by way of an SDHC memory card and this allows you to store both video footage and photos directly onto the card.
