Has your mobile web browser passed away Updated:Thu, 15 May 2008 12:57:23 Sky news have reported on the technology section of their website that popular search engine Google has announced that the mobile phone browser is all but dead. They firmly believe that within a year manufacturers of all new phones will offer full web browsing. However while they say the iphone is going to lead the way for mobiles to follow, there are many models of mobiles out there now that make full use of what the internet has to offer.
Leaders in mobile phones Sony Ericsson, one of the most popular mobile phone manufacturers, has some excellent models on the market that allow the user to surf the internet using popular browsers such as Firefox. This means that viewing web pages and downloading such as music directly to the phone is a joy. However all mobile phones lack one feature and that is internal memory, so additional memory by way of MicroSD is essential. Depending on the model you choose from the Sony Ericsson range you are able to view the web in horizontal full screen mode to make the most of your internet experience. One of the best from this range of phones is the Sony-ericsson X1.
The Sony-ericsson X1 is one of the first mobile phones to come from Sony that has the Symbian operating system. It not only has this, but also comes with one of the most beautiful large screens seen on a mobile. This of course makes it an excellent choice when it comes to viewing web pages in their glory. The internet can be surfed via the Wi-Fi connection and can also be viewed horizontally to make the most of the 3 inch screen. The phone also comes with a full QWERTY keyboard which is revealed when the screen is slid out of the way. The phone does come with larger than normal internal memory, having 400MB for the user, however when storing music, videos and downloads, it is surprising how soon this can run out. Luckily it also comes with the option of adding external memory by way of a MicroSD memory card.
You will need the MicroSD memory card if you are to put the excellent 3.2 megapixel camera to good use. The photo quality is excellent and of course the large screen makes viewing photograph albums a pure delight. The Sony-ericsson X1 also features an FM radio and music player, which provides great sound and includes a GPS receiver. If you spend a lot of time surfing the web on your phone then this is one model that is worth a second glance.
